Lucy Lord Campana is an artist whose observational based painting practice explores the limits of our collective vision. She is interested in how the boundaries of scientific technology are being pushed dramatically; both in seeing outward into space and inward through the microscopic field of metamaterials. Recent projects include images from the James Webb and Hubble Space Telescopes, a series around X-ray use in diamond mining, and methane detection with infrared technology.
She recently worked with Sacred Bones Books to republish the 1905 book Thought Forms. More information can be found here.
Campana holds a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design and an MFA from Columbia University. She teaches painting and drawing at Columbia University.
